Under her management, many of these strategies were also among the first to take advantage of social media, digital, and mobile technology to create a groundswell of public relations support. She has protected CEOs from board backlash, created bulletproof messaging platforms, and assisted companies suffering from online attacks.
Christine is a proven strategist that knows how to generate consistent, widespread media coverage and manage major press events. She has tremendous experience accurately integrating public relations, social media, and digital marketing to achieve desired messaging outcomes.
Throughout her career, she has spearheaded publicity efforts for clients as high-profile as Dow Chemical, 3M, Rexam Beverage Can Americas, International Truck and Engine Corporation and Hyster Company as well as new or changing companies like National Coal Corp (Nasdaq:NCOC), Servidyne (Nasdaq:SERV), SPSS and Continental Broadband.
Since 2002, Christine has been in private practice with clients such as Oval Fire Products, KidKlass.com, Vapiano, United Federal Credit Union, TCS Education System, and Continental Broadband, among others. She typically serves as an outsourced Director of Communications to each of these companies, reporting directly to the executive team. Simply put, she manages all of the investor and public relations work and was responsible for crisis communication response.
In her formative years, Christine also served as Global Manager of Marketing Communications for Dow Performance Foams and lead agency representative for both the Dow Performance Foams and Engineered Films and Laminates. In this role, she also served as a liaison to Dow’s crisis response team.
From 2012 until 2014, she deviated from her role as an independent counselor and served as Senior Vice President at Walker Sands Communications. Walker Sands is recognized by O’Dwyer’s as one of Chicago’s top ten independent public relations and digital marketing firms. In this role, she was responsible for attracting and retaining high-value clients and serving as an effective mentor and manager to more than 40 junior team members.
She headed-up the PROI crisis response team on behalf of the agency and served as one of 30 on PROI’s global crisis communications team. Her department had over 40 clients including Cisco, Acquity Group, hybris Software, West Monroe Partners, CompTIA, and Newark/Element14.
Her own thought leadership has evolved into regularly serving as a guest or contributing writer to the professional services, commodities, technology, energy, not-for-profit and business press. She is recognized by O’Dwyers as one of the country’s top independent public relations counselors. In 2018 and 2019, Expertise.com recognized Pietryla PR as one of the Best PR Firms in Chicago and in 2019, Entreprenuer Magazine put Pietryla PR at #172 on its list of the “360 Most Entreprenurial Companies in America.”
Christine received her bachelor’s degree in public relations from the University of Florida.
